Electric pathway bike in pink? Yes please.

*This product description was written by a pathway riding, leisure cycling woman.*

So you like your bikes pink? This is the electric bike for you! Any colour you like, as long as it's this gorgeous blush pink.

For too long in New Zealand we've been stuck with really limited colour choices and bike styles. Here at Revolution Bikes we know all too well the frustration of looking at international websites to see what's available in more established markets, but to convince the NZ importers to stock them has been an uphill battle. The problem we decided, was most of the NZ importers are sporty men into competitive road cycling. Not classy ladies, who want to ride pretty bikes with their girlfriends to wineries and cafes whilst looking a million bucks.

I distinctly recall one conversation back in 2010 when we asked a supplier's rep to stock more low step-through and colourful bike styles, citing the example of the Frocks on Bikes groups. Trying to get him to understand that more women were taking up leisure biking everyday. We were told, on no uncertain terms, that women's leisure cycling in New Zealand was a very small niche and there was no way it was ever going to compare to the competitive road bike market. Boy was he wrong! He really should have listened to the people at the coal face. Funny he hasn't been seen around here for a while now...

Looking a little bit Luxe, the Watt Wheels Townie would look great paired with your favourite Augustine outfit. Not just a pretty face, it's got a powerful 300W motor which is mid-mounted, making for smoother transitions into power mode.

Front suspension (you'll love us for it), disk brakes (so much easier on the hands) and yes girls, it has a thumb throttle for kicking up your speed, especially helpful on hill starts.

If I had to pick a fault with the Townie I'd say it's a shame they didn't go for an internal rear hub for the gearing (life's so much easier, not to mention cleaner, when your chain can't fall off) but that obviously would have added significantly to the cost and pushed the bike well over $3k.

Watt Wheels offer a 24 months warranty on the motor and battery, 5 years on the frame and 12 months on everything else. Not bad really. Can't wait for these to arrive in the country!

NOTE: The landing date has been pushed from August to December and we are expecting that the interest in these bikes may mean they sell out the moment they arrive in NZ. For this reason we are taking pre-sales for people who do not want to miss out. If this is you, give us a call and we'll set it up for you.
