Welcome to the comfort of riding a Norco Scene. With a 9 speed Shimano Alivio drivetrain and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes the Scene 1 is the top spec model in the range presently available in New Zealand. Lovely in black with the retro gumwall tires,  - just ripe for throwing a picnic on board and heading off for the afternoon!

Norco's Scene bikes are our top selling low step-through pathway bikes, each year bringing a new batch of colours and an upgraded spec across the range of three models, and this year they have also made an ebike version too (Scene VLT).  

We recommend the Scene bikes for our Hawke's Bay riders, whether you're an around-town type of rider, or whether the cycle trails are more your thing. As well as having a comfortable saddle and upright posture, they have the essentials that you should always look for in a decent leisure bike, including:

Light Aluminium Frame

It may not sound very exciting but trust us, this bike is both strong and LIGHT. For you this means:

• it's easier to lift on and off the bike rack if you need to transport it
• it requires minimal effort to propel it forward (remembering it is entirely pedal-powered!)
• It is a easy-riding, maneuverable design, easy to swerve and change direction

The frame comes in four sizes so there is a perfect fit for almost all heights from small to XL. 

Designed to be easy to mount and dismount with a nice low step through design for easy entry without the need to throw your leg over the back of the saddle!

Large 27.5 Wheels - the modern standard

Unless you happen to be very very short, there is no reason to ride an old style 26" wheel any more. By increasing the wheel size to 27.5", the bike will roll further with the same amount of push from your legs. The bumps will be smoothed out somewhat due to the larger diameter of the wheel. 

Norco uses a large volume, wider style tire for the Scene bikes which deliver a fantastic ride on our limestone pathways, especially if you hit a loose patch. It's still a relatively low profile tire which allows for plenty of speed. The larger volume tire allows for greater shock absorption without the need for the added weight of suspension forks.  

Hydraulic Disk Brakes

Disk brakes give you better control over your speed in all weather conditions, making it easy to feel comfortable whether you need to make a sudden stop or just a cautious finger on the brake lever. Hydraulic disk brakes have superior response and are the premium level disk brake the same as you would find on many mountain bikes. 

Large Range of Gears

Norco's Scene 1 has an extended range of gears with 9 gear speeds available with easy shifting, ideal for the steeper hill climbs while giving good range over flat and downhill terrain.

Easily Accessorised

The Scene 1 has a good range of accessory mounting options on it's stiff frame, making it easy for us to attach a basket or mudguards, drink bottle holder, rear carrier, rear basket, child seat or panniers.
