Experienced Bicycle Mechanic Wanted

Experienced professional bicycle mechanic required for a senior position in our busy Bike Shop. 

Revolution Bikes is a family owned, Local Bike Shop established in 1996 in Havelock North, Hawke’s Bay. Here we enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle in our warm climate with easy access to good quality off-road cycle trails, mountain bike parks, beaches, wineries, lots of cafes and good friends. 

We are more than just another bike retail/repair shop – our owners and staff are involved in trail building (we also make and sell track building tools throughout NZ), MTB trail advocacy at local government level, Bikes in Schools, and actively working to encourage cycling in our community. 

We are a predominantly off-road Bike Shop so for this position your prior experience with mountain bikes is essential. Experience with eMTB and ebikes is an advantage as is any relevant industry training. At least two years or two race seasons mechanical experience is required for this role. 

Your mechanical skill set must include wheel builds and brake bleeding as a bare minimum and ideally you will be competent (and timely) with expert level MTB servicing to keep our high end clients happy. A good track record and a high standard of work is expected. 

Your regular workshop responsibilities include 

• work flow planning and delegation where appropriate, 
• new bike builds, 
• MTB custom upgrades, 
• diagnosis, servicing and repair work on a multitude of bikes presented to the workshop from our regular customers, local families and internationally competitive riders. 

Duties extend beyond the workshop, with plenty of face to face interaction with customers including stepping into a sales role during peak busy times when the team requires it.

This is a permanent full time position, offering flexible hours and days including rostered weekends. There will be some variation in hours as the business responds to seasonal customer activity and to cover staff members taking annual leave.
